Dan Fogel is a leading authority and historian of Underground, Alternative, and Adult comic books. A comics & collectibles retailer for 4 decades, he shares his expertise as a Special Advisor for The Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide, ComicsPriceGuide.com, and GPAnalysis.com.
He is the author and publisher of the 2006 Fogel's Underground Comix Price Guide, its 2010 Supplement, and the current Fogel's Underground Price & Grading Guide 2015-16 V.1: Underground Comix, the industry standard for retailers, collectors and investors. His companies Fogelcomix, Hippy Comix, and Apex Novelties have published dozens of titles and helped keep classic Underground Comix art in print, including several remastered collections of work by R. Crumb, S. Clay Wilson, and Spain Rodriguez. His writing, editing, and publishing career began in the late '80s with Larry Welz's best-selling line of books starring Cherry Poptart. Fogel is currently based in Cleveland, and when not writing, editing, or publishing comics or books about them, is the art agent for Dan O’Neill and Ted Richards of the notorious Air Pirates Studios, and the licensing agent for Dana Crumb Associates.
