Dionisios Kavvadias was born in New York City in 1975. He received his BFA from the School of Visual Arts in 1997. His comic book-inspired artwork has been exhibited in the US in group shows at the Kentler International Drawing Space in Brooklyn, the Stathakion Cultural Center in Queens, the Organization of Independent Artists in Manhattan, and the Future Studio Gallery in Los Angeles. In 2004, he received a PRIDE Award (Personal Recognition for Ingenuity, Drive, and Excellence) from the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI) for his participation in The Move Project, which saw more than 800,000 Native American artifacts and objects move from the NMAI Research Branch (RB) in the Bronx, to the museum's new Cultural Resources Center (CRC) in Suitland, Maryland. He lives and works in New York City.
